Thanks to generous funding from the Camas-Washougal Community Chest and support from Washougal Hardware, the Washougal Ivy League is equipped with Ivy and Holly removal tools for use to our volunteers. However, if you prefer to work with your own tools or gloves, please bring them along! The most useful tools for removing ivy are loppers, garden pruners, and limb saws. Please wear appropriate clothing for the conditions and sturdy shoes. Leather gloves are helpful if you plan to work on or near the blackberries.
Make sure to bring lots of water as ivy pulling can be hard work.
Snacks are provided at our events to keep our volunteers motivated!
We will be working in Mable Kerr Park for the first few events of our 2026 schedule!
Specifically, we only have permission to work in the Southeast corner of Mable Kerr, which happens to coincide with where most of the Ivy in the park is.
Parking is at George Schmid Memorial Park, off SE Evergreen Highway. There is a foot path from the parking area to the work area.
We must avoid working near the encroachment area, in the northwestern side of the park. We do not have permission to host volunteer events in this area.
